Kaitlyn is a student at the University of Washington and is currently studying Public Health and minoring in Nutrition with a special interest in Holistic Health Practices.
While in school Kaitlyn had the opportunity to volunteer with the local Special Olympics program in her hometown, and since then has developed a desire to work with and advocate for individuals with various disabilities. It was through this experience that sparked her interest to better understand and help treat those on the autism spectrum. She has spent the last few years seeking opportunities to further explore this interest in a variety of settings such as classrooms, hospitals, and medical brigades.
Through volunteering and working with people of all walks of life, both internationally and locally, she has learned the importance of seeing the person as an individual with their own goals and lifestyles, while understanding that no person is defined by their disability.
After graduation Kaitlyn plans to pursue a career in Occupational Therapy with a focus in pediatrics. In her spare time she loves to travel, go hiking, read books and spend time with my dog.
